MPhil in English Language Education

MPhil in Education is a three semester post graduate academic program for students who have completed their Masters level studies. The program has been designed meet the current need of the Nepali society to deliver education at tertiary level. It is market- oriented in nature, up-to-date in its content, reality-focused for effective implementation, and competitive in quality. This 33 to 36 credit hours program includes core courses common to all students, an area of concentration, elective courses, and research-based dissertation. The course provides basic skills for research and academic communication including research methods, statistics for research, academic writing, and seminars issues. Students may choose from five areas of concentration to develop expertise in one of the selected fields.

Admission Requirements

Candidates for the MPhil degree in MPhil in ELE, candidates must have MA in English language / literature or MA in English Linguistics or MEd in English Education or MA/MEd in English Language Teaching or MA in Teaching of English as a Second/Foreign Language from a recognized university with at least 50% score in aggregate or CGPA 3.0.
